General

  • The Special Subscription Offer for Dailies / Magazines is valid in select area/City/region. The delivery of copies is also restricted to the select areas. The selection of area/s is at the discretion of THG Publishing Private Limited, which henceforth called as 'Company/THGPPL'
  • The Hindu Group of publications are also available without Subscription / Gift offers
  • There will be no issue of Dailies / Magazines on selective festive and other days which is subject to change without notice
  • The Company reserves the right to extend, withdraw, change, and modify the rate / offer at any time without any prior notice at its sole discretion
  • The Company reserves the absolute right to terminate or extend an offer or any part thereof and / or to accept / reject any or all subscription order form/s without assigning any reason
  • It is explicitly agreed that in case of any dispute, the liability of the Company shall not for any reason exceed the subscription amount paid as advance or the cost of dailies/magazines not supplied for such days, whichever is less. The decision of the Company is final and binding on the subscriber
  • The Company reserves the right to change the page level, cover price and issue dates without prior notice at its discretion. In case there exists difficulty in supplying copies before or after the commencement of the subscription due to one reason or other, the company reserves the right to refund the subscription amount collected after deducting the cost of copies supplied or as the case may be
  • Decision of the Company shall be final and binding on all with respect to the terms and conditions
  • Any matter, differences and disputes on the terms and conditions, if any, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Chennai Courts only

Gift Offer - Terms & Conditions

  • Timeline for delivery of the gift(s) to subscribers will vary depending on the offer
  • Specific colours, models, variants, and features of the guaranteed free assured gifts are subject to change depending on availability of the stock with the manufacturer. Gift items as shown images/pictures are indicative and for illustration purpose only and the actual look and feel of the product may vary from the image/picture. In case of unavailability of stock, subscriber will be informed & alternate gifts of similar value will be given. No request shall be entertained on the claim for specific colours, models, variants, and features of the guaranteed free assured gifts
  • The free subscription gifts may be covered by a guarantee/warranty as per the manufacturer of the product. Any warranty/guarantee claims will need to be taken up directly with the manufacturer, THGPPL shall not be liable for any claims made on this account and shall not replace any gifts etc. No claim shall be entertained by THGPPL for the same
  • THGPPL reserves the right to terminate or extend an offer or any part thereof, at any time at the absolute discretion of THGPPL without assigning any reason. Information regarding cancellation/ extension/ discontinuance will however be published subsequently in the magazines or websites only. No communication shall be entertained by THGPPL in this regard

Subscription enrolment (All publications)

Offline payments:

  • For payments made by subscribers vide Cheque/DD sent through India Post or courier, THGPPL will not be responsible for delays, transit losses or mutilation of subscription application/form/Cheque/DD. Bank charges of Rs.10 or such charges as applicable
  • In case of dishonour of cheque(s) or non-receipt of payment, the Company reserves the right to withdraw / suspend / stop supply copies of newspaper/Magazines and recover the cost of newspaper/Magazines supplied apart from any other expenses borne by the Company in addition to legal charges
  • Subscribers must provide complete delivery address with postal Pin code, email id & contact number in the subscription enrolment form/letter to ensure timely delivery of copies
  • Details of subscription period and receipt will be sent to the registered address of the subscriber after payment is realized and subscription order is booked

Online payments:

  • Subscribers must provide complete address with postal Pin code in the subscription enrolment form to ensure timely delivery at the time of booking subscription online
  • Details of subscription period and receipt will be sent to the registered email id of the subscriber after online payment is completed

Commencement & Delivery

Dailies:

  • Every effort will be made to commence the subscription on the scheduled date given below and to deliver the newspaper regularly
  • Payment received from 1st to 10th of the month - from 16th of the same month
  • Payment received from 11th to 25th of the month - from 1st of the following month
  • Payment received after 25th till the end of the month - from 16th of the following month
  • In the event of any support required or report any grievance related to delivery of newspaper, the subscriber must report to the Company’s customer service team at toll free number 1800 102 1878 or email to customercare@thehindu.co.in within 3 days from the date of commencement

Magazines:

  • For payments received online, Magazine subscription will be processed immediately on payment and the first issue will be delivered within 2-3 weeks thereafter
  • For offline payments received, the time frame for processing the Magazine subscription will be 3-4 weeks and the first issue will be despatched within 2-3 weeks thereafter
  • Sportstar / Frontline / Youngworld (By Post) Magazine subscription copies are shipped to the registered delivery address vide Normal India Post for locations within India & vide Airmail for locations outside India
  • In the event of a Magazine copy not received at the registered delivery address vide Normal India Post, subscriber must report the concern within 10 days from the issue date to Company’s customer service team at toll free no. 1800 102 1878 or email to customercare@thehindu.co.in failing which the request will not be entertained thereafter

Cancellation & Refund

Dailies / Magazines:

  • Request for cancellation and refund of subscription paid initially must be submitted in writing. Letter must sent to: Manager, Customer Service – Sales & Distribution, 859-860 Anna Salai, Chennai 60002 or Email to customercare@thehindu.co.in must be sent from the registered email id clearly mentioning subscriber id and the reason for cancellation along with details of bank account for crediting the refund
  • Refund will be processed on a prorated basis, only to the extent of the value of subscription for the un-serviced period
  • Copies already serviced and delivered/dispatched to subscriber will not be refunded
  • Refund will take 4-6 weeks to be processed from the time of request received
  • Gift subscription: Request for cancellation and refund of subscription with gift offers will be processed only after deducting the value of the gift taken by the subscriber
  • Company reserves the right to refuse request for cancellation and refund of subscription
